Skills and Capability in Digital Transformation

Thursday 2:10pm - 2:40pm, IT Professionals NZ (CCL Room 2)

Digital Transformation is more than just a change to the organisation structure; it’s about changing how we will get things done and often includes a change to what we do and who we work with.

This kind of transformation will therefore have a significant impact on many aspects of people, process, and technology.

Research clearly shows that a major factor in the success for transformation activities (digital or otherwise), is successfully building the capabilities for the workforce of the future. However, in the IT space, whilst considerable effort is usually expended in considering technology needs, and the implementation of process frameworks, the same depth of understanding needs to be applied to considering the capabilities needed from people.

In this session we will explore some of the challenges of identifying and designing the capabilities the organisation will need, along with some of the common trends impacting on this, including changes to sourcing, adoption of Cloud services, adopting Agile and DevOps, and changes to Service Management.
