Anthony McMahon

The IT Psychiatrist

An IT professional with experience in Service Management, Enterprise Architecture, and IT Risk, Anthony's passion is helping businesses get their mindset right when it comes to managing their technology in order to help enable and support growth.

With a previous career in corporate, Anthony has lived through the hype that comes with emerging technology and the fear surrounding it and takes a historical view on why things aren't going to be as bad as they would have us believe.

It's All About Mindset

Thursday 2:10pm - 2:40pm, ITPNZ (Cybersec Room 4)

Agile vs DevOps? Continuous Delivery vs Agile? React vs Node?

As the pace of change around technology increases, so too does the choice of frameworks, standards, methods, and tools available for delivering a successful outcome.

But the reality is that methods and tools are only partly responsible for success.

It all comes down to mindset.

Without the correct mindset, teams will struggle to deliver and the customer will miss out.

But what is mindset, and how do you grow it?

During this interactive session, Anthony will explore why mindset is so critical to success, dive into projects and organisations that have grown a successful mindset, and share tips on how to build it within a team and an organisation.

Robots Will Take our Jobs... But We'll Be Ok

Friday 11:40am - 12:10pm, ITPNZ (CCL Room 2)

Thee fourth industrial revolution is bringing about a robotic revolution.

RPA, Chatbots, AI, and Intelligent Automation are all coming, and the media would have us believe that they're going to disrupt our way of working.

Except they won't.

To understand why we only need to look at the impact on work since the start of the industrial revolution.

During this session, Anthony will tell a story that began 300 years ago and illustrates why we'll still be working, even if the jobs won't be the same.

We'll be alright, really.

Technology and the Future of Work

Friday 1:30pm - 2:40pm, ITPNZ, CITRENZ, Extra (ITx Plenary Room)

Panel talk and Q&A about the changing face of work in the next 10-15 years as a result of advances in adoption of technology.
