Dunedin as NZ’s gaming hub

Tuesday 4:50pm - 5:20pm, (Dunedin 1 Room)

Dunedin has a huge and unique opportunity to grow its reputation as a great gaming hub, with a strong community and excellent initiatives like the CODE – NZ’s Centre of Digital Excellence – based here. But how do we take this one step further?

Kylie Jackson is no stranger to building communities, having been the Dunedin-based Deputy Director of the SIGNAL ICT Graduate School, helping build collaboration through Ōtepoti Games, and serving on both the ITP Dunedin Branch and TechWomen’s National Executive.

Tim Ponting is a 32-year veteran of the international games industry, was European Comms Director for Activision and co-founder of Renegade PR. And now he's the Establishment Director of CODE.

Join Tim and Kylie as they talk about Dunedin’s great opportunity, and how we can all get involved to build on the foundations and grow Dunedin’s tech talent on the back of the gaming industry.
