We invite you to attend the 2019 CITRENZ conference, as part of ITx Rutherford 2019 -  New Zealand’s Conference of IT in Nelson on October 09-11, 2019 and submit papers, posters, panels and workshops for presentation and publication.

The theme for ITx is: “Innovation, Technology, Education”.

CITRENZ 2019 is the premiere computing education conference in New Zealand and spans all disciplines of computing and information technology education. While focusing on tertiary education, it also provides links from secondary education and further into the computing industry. The conference regularly attracts more than 100 attendees from all over New Zealand as well as international delegates.

This year we are, once again, excited to be a constituent conference of the ITx conference, in partnership with IT Professionals New Zealand (ITP). ITx brings together the two conferences under one roof over 3 days and will be a great opportunity for CITRENZ members to engage with the broader IT community.

Each conference is responsible for setting their own programme, so we invite CITRENZ members and other interested parties to share abstracts/concepts for consideration for the CITRENZ 2019 Conference.

This conference is open to all educators and researchers in the computing and information technology and computing and information science communities.

NOTE: This is the Call for Papers for the CITRENZ Conference, one of the two component conferences of ITx. Click here for more information about ITx.

Process:

Editorially-reviewed items

Proposals for workshops and panels will be considered by the editorial board in consultation with conference chairs. Criteria for acceptance will be the judged level of interest from, and relevance to, conference attendees.

Posters should be a concise summary of scholarly work. At least one author should attend the conference and be prepared to discuss their work at the scheduled poster sessions. An extended abstract of the work is included in the proceedings as a record of the poster presentation. This is in the form of a two page short paper and is editorially reviewed. Acceptance criteria for posters are scholarship and relevance to conference attendees.

Peer reviewed papers

Please submit your paper by June 30, 2019. Note that if your full paper isn't ready, submit an abstract or "work in progress" and we'll work with you on the full paper. Papers will then be double-blind refereed by at least two reviewers on the review panel. They will be selected for presentation at the conference and inclusion in the refereed conference proceedings by a respected editorial board, based on the reviewers’ recommendations.

Completed papers must be submitted via EasyChair here.

Authors of successful proposals will be notified by July 31, 2019, in order to then submit a complete quality-assured paper. Final, camera-ready papers must be submitted by 18 September, 2019. At least one of the paper’s authors must attend the conference and present the paper.

Paper Template - Complete papers should be formatted between six and eight pages. Papers less than four full pages or greater than ten pages will be rejected. A paper template, incorporating style and content guidelines, is available here.

Posters

Posters may also be submitted for display at the 2019 CITRENZ Conference. The poster abstracts are to be submitted in short paper structure, using the provided template by no later than June 30, 2019. Poster authors will be advised of the outcome of the submission by July 31, 2019,

Please bring with you the printed poster to the conference. They must be printed as A1.
